Application
The EDDI Plant allows the conditioning of crude in Marine Oil Terminals and Crude Oil Refineries.
The Problem
Crude from mature fields contain high levels of salinity and water. The current processes applied to condition the crude do not deliver the required quality.
The Solution
The EDDI Plant offers optimized conditions in pressures, temperatures and mechanical actions that configure a process that allows to condition crude oil with high levels of salinity and water and deliver processed crude with the quality according to customer requirements.

The EDDI Plant offers economic savings by reducing the demand for electrical, thermal, water and chemical additives. Savings in installation by not requiring Gun-Barrels Tanks and by having a high plant factor eliminating unscheduled shutdowns.
Optimized Process for Dehydration and Desalting of Crude Oil in a safe and efficient way.
The Dynamic Desalting Equipment (EDDI) is designed in 3 operational stages: Stage I Lamination and Splitting of the crude oil, Stage II Mechanical Washing and Stage III Salinity Adjustment. For its design, a series of simulated tests with computer programs are applied, which emulate the basic parameters of the equipment design.
This allows modifying the flow, pressure, temperature and viscosity levels of the crude oil to be processed, in such a way that it is possible to obtain the optimum point for the operation of the process plant. The data set obtained from these tests is organized and analyzed in such a way that it is possible to establish the optimal conditions of the process plant.
The Dynamic Desalting Equipment (EEDI) has a mechanical attachment installed in the arrival head and in the Three-Phase Separator that allows the immediate reduction of speed. Likewise, a sudden change in direction which forces a large part of the suspended solids to fall to the bottom of the arrival head; thereby, ensuring that the solids recovered at the bottom of the arrival head can be mechanically removed.
